WEST CAPE VILLA

The West Cape Villa design explores how generous architectural volumes and a restrained material palette can create a home that feels grand and luxurious without losing the warmth and ease of island living. 

The double-height living space forms the heart of the home. The vertical volume allows natural light to travel deep into the home. The interior architect created an open layout so this deep travelling light is not interrupted, extending the sense of space.

Lighting plays an important role in shaping the atmosphere. Integrated linear lighting, recessed fixtures and sculptural pendants emphasise the architectural lines and height of the space, while warmer tones create a softer, more intimate feeling as the day moves towards sunset. The result is a contemporary interior that feels sleek without becoming cold.

A restrained palette of whites, timber and marble keeps the space calm and expansive. Natural materials and polished finishes are layered through marble walls, timber panels, wooden doors and statement lighting, introducing texture and subtle moments of luxury without overwhelming the simplicity of the space. The home is sophisticated, yet grounded.
