This upcoming Domaine de Palmyre Residence had a clear direction from start, drawing from the rich architectural and material traditions of the Swahili coast and the Indian Ocean. The intention was to create a layered identity that merges classic beauty with contemporary openness. In many ways, the interior reflects the cultural character of Mauritius itself, where African and Indian influences have met, intertwined and evolved together over generations. As a practice rooted in this context, Run By Design brings an inherent understanding of these influences, translating cultural appreciation into a lived architectural experience.
